At the first week-end of the Welsh Junior Chess Championships, held at Chepstow School on 24-25 February, Susana Fraser and Ifan Rathbone-Jones shared the Under 14 title, Ellison Smith won the under 12s, Sridatta Dantu and Ben Jaberansari shared the under 10s and Govind Anandkumar won the under 8s.
Llya Taylor won the under 10 Major, and George Siddall won the under 8s Major.
Susana Fraser and Ifan Rathbone-Jones shared the Under 14 title with 4/5,
and Madeleine Smith came third with 3/5.
Ellison Smith won the under 12s with 5/6, and sharing second on 4/6 were
Milo Davies, Huya Ray, Yuxuan Wu, Daniel Chung and Bence Szakmany.
Sridatta Dantu and Ben Jaberansari shared the under 10s title with 6.5/7,
and Tom Davies and Ashika Shahmeeran came joint third with 4.5/7.
Govind Anandkumar won the under 8s with 10/10,
Elliot Baylis came second with 7/10, and Harvey Giordmaine came third with 6/10.
Llya Taylor won the under 10 Major with 5/6, Elliot Dempsey came second with 4.5/6
and Frederick Dale-Hickey, Tabitha Ryan and Jake Duff shared third with 4/6.
George Siddall won the under 8s Major with 8/10,
and James Choung and Henry Goldsmith shared second with 7.5/10
