All participants in this Championship must be registered members of the WCU and also registered with FIDE as Welsh at the time of entry and also Welsh qualified in at least one of the following ways:

 

 

Birth in Wales

Child of a person who was born in Wales

Residence in Wales for at least two years immediately prior to the Championship.

Throughout the period of six months immediately before the event attendance as a student at a school of establishment of        further or higher education in Wales

Represented the Welsh Chess Union in a Junior International event

 

For U9’s the entrant must be born in 2014 or later

For U8’s the entrant must be born in 2015 or later
