Closed Qualification

All the participants in the Welsh Closed Championship must be:

1) Rated 1900 or above (WCU 2021 List)

2) Juniors Under 18 on 1/1/21 rated 1800 or above (WCU 2021 List)

3) Players must be registered members of the WCU and registered as a Welsh player

by FIDE at the time of entry.

4) players must be Welsh qualified in at least one of the following ways:

a) Birth in Wales.

b) Child of a person who was born in Wales.

c) Spouse of a person who was born in Wales.

d) Ten years consecutive residence in Wales at any time prior to the event in question.

e) Residence in Wales for at least two years immediately before the event in question.

Trophies will be awarded to the players finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd and also to

the highest placed female player and highest placed player aged Under 18 on 1.1.21
