Cardiff City Stadium Chess Tournament 28th November Results

420 children representing 40 teams took part in this competition. The event relies on the generous time given up by volunteers, many of whom have attended each year, and all are thanked for their support of this event.

The event was organised in two sections with the prize winners as follows:

DIVISION 1                  1^st:       St John’s College, Cardiff

                                   2^nd:      Rhydypenau Primary School, Cardiff

                                   3^rd:      Ysgol Gymraeg Melin Gruffydd

DIVISION 2                  1^st:       Roath Park Primary School, Cardiff

                                   2^nd:      Cwrt Rawlin Primary School, Cardiff

                                   3^rd: =   Bryn Deri Primary School, Cardiff

                                              Shirenewton Primary School, Chepstow

The trophies were presented by the Welsh Chess Union Patron, Lord Greg Mostyn, who spent a significant part of the day at the event watching the young people in play.
