St John’s, Cardiff, hosted the third and final qualifier in South Wales for the upcoming Welsh Junior Championships on Saturday 12 November.
- In the under 11s, Hiya Ray and Bence Szakmany tied for first on 5/6. Sharing third were Rhys Matthews and Ellison Smith on 4.5/6
- In the under 10s, Ivon Woodward came first with 6/6, Ed Maguire took second with 4.5, and four players shared third: Jonathan Davies, Alice Potter, Thomas Watson and Caleb Jones.
- In the under 9s, three players shared first place with 5/6: Tom Davies, Nia Rathkey and Ashika Shahmeeran
- In the under 8s, Benjamin Jaberansari came first with 6/6, Isabella Caesar came second with 5/6 and Karim Rafaul came third with 3.5/6.
All players scoring 4/6 or more qualify for the top tier of the Welsh Junior Championships, held in the Spring Term. At this qualifier, in addition to those mentioned above that scored 4 or more, the following children have meet that criteria: Jacob Wynn (U11), Thomas Davies (U11), William Roberts (U11), Sridatta Dantu (U9), Oliver Tregear (U9), Lara Omidvar (U9), Aryan Misra, Frederick Dale-Hickey (U9) Joseff Roberts (U9)
